Meet the Founder

Marie Francoise Momperousse Samedi (1954–2021) was born with a purpose and had a call on her life, and it was to do mission work. She had a big heart; and every person she came into contact with was touched in a unique way. Her primary focus was winning souls for Christ. She often asked this question, "Do you know Jesus?" She deeply cared about the spiritual health of those she encountered and did everything in love.

She has served and helped hundreds of children and families through compassionate hearts in the form of sponsorship, which provides educational, medical, and nutritional support for those in need.
Active Compassion for the Children of Haiti began in the early 2000's and it was officially recognized in 2005. ACCH originated in Haiti and served children in the following locations: Aquin, Cabaret, Cavaillon, Cayes (Morency), Cité Soleil, Gonaïves, Hinche, Jacmel, Lascahobas, Léogâne, Port-de-Paix, and Vieux-Bourg. Many recipients of this sponsorship program have become teachers, nurses, and doctors. During 2005, on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic, La Romana and Ouanaminthe were also added. In 2011, Mrs. Samedi founded and built a church in Batey Dos (an impoverished area inhabited by Haitians) in Esperanza, Dominican Republic. She went on to plant 5 more churches in Amina, Bombillo, Mao, Monte Cristi, and El Paraiso, which is still pending construction.

Due to the political unrest and gang violence in Haiti, we currently serve the Haitian members and the people who live in the surrounding church communities in the Dominican Republic. The mission continues to hold annual trips; providing medical, physical, and nutritional aid to many families. Social functions such as weddings and community events are funded and held in the churches as well. This institution also serves as a place of refuge and safe space for our youth and most vulnerable children.
Seminars and workshops are also held to educate, empower, and equip the clergy, men, women, youth, and children of the communities. It is with hope and prayer that we can go back to Haiti and other parts of the world to continue the legacy of Marie Samedi and reach those who are less fortunate.
